Histoplasmosis epidémica 1. Aspectos clínicos y serológicos

Abstract

An epidemy of histoplasmosis was described in o group of campists that visited the Ende's cave inhabit by pats, in Cunday. Tolima. The clinical, radilogic and serologic findings confirm a high percentage (78.6%) of infection with H. capsulatum, the percentage of illnes with mild symptoms and recuperation without treatment was of 10%. Two serologic test used in histoplasmosis, double immunodiffusion in agar gel and complement fixation allowed the diagnosis and the complement fixation was also used to follow the serologic evolution of the patients. It is important to remark the health problem caused by the Histoplasma capsulatum infection in Colombia.
