Prueba de Peroxidasa - Antiperoxidasa en anticuerpos antinucleares

Miguel Guzmán, Sandra De Jaramillo, .

Abstract

The immuno-peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique (PAP), was studied and standardized to detect antinuclear-antibodies (ANA). Sera from 70 patients suspected to suffer sistemic eritematous lupus (SEL) were studied by this technique. 56 sera were negative, 7 showed titers 1:10 - 1:40 considered negatives and 7 were positives given titers 1:160 to 1:640. These results were in complete agreement with those obtained by  immunofluorescence. It was posible to demostrate that the peroxidase-antiperoxidase technique has a high degree of sensitivity and specificity to detect-antinuclear antibodies hut compared with the immunofluorescent procedures it has the disadventage of its great technical complexity.
