Abstract

It was possible to adopt and establish the indirect immunofluorescence technique in the diagnosis of rabbit-kind toxoplasmosis. Seventy two (72) rabbitt's sera from the University of Caldas Biotery and sixty two (621 rabbitt's sera from the INAS Biotery were studied. The findings showed prevalence titers of antibodies ranging between 1:16 and 1:1024 for the 70.87010 of the population examined, which demostrated that a high percentage of rabbitts under study were in contact whith Toxoplasma gondii and that such infection ocurred through congenital infection. No significant statistical differences were fund amorg the results abtained from de IFI test in the populations studied to a significant level of 0.01.
