Abstract

An experimental study to evaluate the cargo-hydrate  test in the identification of rapid growing microorganism from genus Mycobacterium was perfumed. It was found that this kind of  tests are very useful standardizing  the procedure by culturing the microorganism on Tsukamura medium adding to this the respective carbo-hydrate: as pH indicator Andrade's indicator was found as the most convenient; the optimal incubation temperature was 37ºC, the reading of the tests was best perfumed on the 20th day of incubation given a sharp result; it also was found that 1 g/ml of bacilary mass was optimal inoculum.
