Criptococosis: Diagnóstico por el laboratorio

Abstract

Twenty-nine cases of cryptococcosis studied in the Medical Mycology Laboratory of the Institute over a period of 6 years are presented. The laboratory tests employed to establish the diagnosis and their positivity were: direct examination (79%) culture (93%) and latex agglutination (100%). The serotypification of the 16 isolates in CGB medium was: 114 isolates C. neofomans var. noefomans and 2 C. neofomans var. gattii.
