Desarrollo de una prueba de coaglutinación para el diagnóstico de faringitis estreptococica
Abstract
A coagglutination test intended to be used as a diagnostic test for streptococcal pharyngitis was standardized by means of a specific conjugate prepared couplin a Staphylococcus aureus Cowan I strain with antiStreptococcus progenies IgG produced in rabbits. In seventeen patients with proven streptococcal pharyngitis by clinical and bacteriological findings, the coagglutinaton test was positive in sixteen, meaning 94.11% agreement, in twenty four healthy persons the coagglutination test was negative, the specificity was proved using two of the most common encountered microorganisms in normal oropharyngeal flora: S. viridans and S. agalactiae. The statistical analysis showd the potentiality of this test as a diagnostic tool.
