Abstract

A description of the mortality rate due to malignant tumors in Bogotá D.E., during 1986, a city with a population of aproximately 4'604.000 in habitants, at 2.630 Mts. above sea level, states and reports that: a) This kind of illness appears to be in first place within the general mortality rate of this city; b) More than a half of the affected patients belong to the female sex; c) The main type of malignant tumor is the stomach cancer; also warns that among women the breast cancer alike the uterine cervical cancer, constitutes the most important causes of death in female sex, and the group older than 60 years is the most affected one by this kind of disease.
