Prevalencia de antígeno de superficie de hepatitis "B" en Colombia

Abstract

The prevalence of HBsAg was studied in a representative sample of the Colombian population belonging to three of the five regions in which the country was divided for the Estudio Nacional de Salud (Colombian National Survey on Health) 1977-80. It restitutes 16.320.221 inhabitants. The results show that the prevalence was higher in the central region (7.1%) than the pacific (3.5%) and oriental regions (2.8%). The overall rate for the country was 4.7% The rates by sex are higher among men (5.4%) than among women (4.1%) consistently for all age groups.
