Algunos aspectos clínicos del Cólera en el Hospital San Andrés de Tumaco, marzo-abril 1991
Abstract
A revision of 106 clinical records of hospitalized cholera patientes, between March to April 1991 in Tumaco (Nariño), was carried out. Shockwas observed in thirty patients (28%). It was more frequently found among males and it was not related to the time elapsed between the onset of symptoms and medical care rendered to them. The average time of medical atention was 43 hours and the parenteral fluid requirement for shocked patients was 14 liters while for not shocked patients was only 8 liters. Except for the endovenous fluid replacement, our findings do not differ from those of international reports.
