Tiempo de excreción de Vibrio cholerae O1 en pacientes con tratamiento

Abstract

During the actual outbreak of cholera in Colombia we tried to determine Vibrio cholerae 01 time of excretion from cholera patients after treatment with antimiuobials. V. cholerae O1 excretion in affected patients was negative in 84% (21/25) of the samples tested at 24 hours, 88% (30/34) at five days and 92.5% (37/40) at ten days. With our results we confirmed that treatment reduces the number of days of excretion of the microorganism.
