Abstract

This report deals with the development and current status of the calcium-phosphate ceramics, which have a great potential as bone substitute for dental and medical applications. Based on reports from the literature and the current experience with the biomaterials of calcium phosphate produced in Cuba, several areas for the basic and clinical research are discussed and also the future development.
