Frecuencia de aparición del virus sincital respiratorio (VSR) en niños con sintomatología compatible con bronquiolitis en cuatro hospitales pediátricos de Bogotá
Abstract
The frequency of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) of 61 patients who showed bronchiolitis symptos was determined in specimens of nasopharyngeal secretions. The specimens from emergency of the wards hospitals: El Tunal, Lorencita Villegas de Santos, La Misericordia y la Clínica Hospitals and del Niño were obtained. The antigen detection was carried out by the ELISA method, employing Directigen-BBL, and TestPack-Abbott. Out of 61 specimens studied, 37 (61%) were positive to RSV antigen. It was related positive findings and sex: were analysed so: were boys (57%) and 16 girls (43%). was positive frequencies of RSV and patients age were also analysed, older children showed a lower frequency. On the other hand, had high positive antigen to RSV, poor patients the prelimary results of this study, shows the high frequency of RSV in pediatric patients with bronchiolitis symptons.
